I'm going to be teaching a writing retreat in Tuscany, even though my father, the oldest son of Russian Jewish immigrants, KNEW Europe didn't really exist. Come write in Italy with me.
They’re amazing. They went from being squeakers to porkers and as of yesterday I would say they are now officially puppers. Serenity actually play bowed to one of them, wagging her tail. He didn’t quite get it but they all will soon. They can wag their tails now, bound around, and play fight. They love gnawing on each other’s mouths and tails. They want to explore everything and then they’re so exhausted they flop down whenever they are and fall asleep. Puppy TV gets more fun to watch by the hour. Thanks for asking. I’ll write an update soon.
Hope you can join us. I am Anna Bazarnaya. I will be co-teaching at the retreat and helping Jennifer with details and logistics. Happy to help if you have any questions.
Hi Stephen, I'm guessing you're American? Don't you think that digital control is alive and well in your home country as well? I'm asking an honest question out of curiosity. I'm reticent to travel to America for that very reason among other things.
Oh gosh!! This is such a temptation!! I LOVED our time together in March. I will have to give it some serious consideration and ask the Great All Knowing for some guidance. Love you and Love Lucca. I'm sure it's going to be amazing...again. Also, I would be remiss to not comment on how you started this post. I LoVE how you brought us into this piece with a bit of your history, how your father is your connection to books (same here) and his interesting take on Europe not existing. My father also did not travel to Europe as a young person (we were a family of six also not wealthy enough for such adventures) and did not get to go until he was well into his sixties. He made his last trip there - to Scotland if we can include it in the EU despite Brexit - where he finally visited the land of our ancestors and saw the statue of a relative in Glasgow who shared not just his genes, but his name. A true pilgrimage that I am so grateful he was able to make and that I wish I could have joined him on.
I miss Europe so much. What is it that makes it different? To me it is the way it feels and the way it smells, from street food vendors to old stones. History of the whole nation and each family is on every corner and in every crack of the old buildings.
Hello Jennifer. I tried the link to find out more about your retreat in Italy, but it didn't work well, at all? Is it me? LOL. I'll watch for more links. Marnie H.
I hope it works for you this time. I am Jennifer's retreat coordinator and co-host (also a website designer) who makes sure that all links are working properly ;)
Jennifer - I so love reading what you write! Vibrant is the perfect name for you. How are the pups (maybe I missed an update.)

Wonderful.
I love how I feel when I’m there too!
Me too. And the food is so much cleaner and fresher than in America. And so so delicious... #italyisawesome #NotShItaly...
Cancelled any and all trips to EU digital control area. Last trip in Italy was a backpack from Assisi to Rome (Vatican).

🙏❤️Dawn. We would LOVE to have you back.

What you said about your father denying the existence of Europe is a classic sign of
major false belief. He thought all those people conspired in what he thought was fiction, fraud.
That is fascinating. It is a prime example. False beliefs are the rule, not the exeption.
Many "believed" the "virus" Covid fiction. They "took" the mRNA quaxcine.
The best educated were the most likely to do this. Have been studying this phenomena of
false beliegs for decades. There are many details.
