This is beautiful, thank you for publishing this piece, Jennifer. Also thank you for YOUR work during "COVID" and beyond.

I have been trying and trying to bring attention to the side of autism (an umbrella term( that has to do with undiagnosed infections of the brain and the CNS (a significant factor, in my opinion, including through contaminated vaccines). Please take a look if you are curious. The reason it is important is that the parents can look into antiparasitic / antifungal regimens, and for that, no one needs to wait on the FDA or the HHS or any of those official channels. I pray that my research into infections as a major factor of neurological symptoms (alongside heavy metals and all other things) takes off, it can help a lot of people potentially, and that would make me very happy. https://tessa.substack.com/p/autism-deciphered

Thank you Tessa. We have the same goal, for sure: to help as many people as we can and to try to avoid damaging children's brains and immune systems. Thank you for the link. I am eager to learn more about your research into infections as a factor of neurological symptoms. I think my readers will be too.

Thank you so much for this!

It can beso hard to cut through all the drivel written by the "oh look at my brilliant autist" people who let profound autism fall through the cracks.

You made my day.

I'm so glad, Erin. We've been girding our loins to be ready for the mudslinging and insults and accusations; so it's especially heartwarming to know that this article resonated with you so deeply. I am a fan of neurodiversity. I come from a family of people with very unusual brains. And ... that is so different from severe autism. It baffles me that the two are so often conflated and that parents who speak openly about cleaning human feces off the wall or being in the ER from a child-inflicted act of violence are then vilified for even discussing it. It also doesn't escape notice that many of the so-called experts who vehemently deny the connection between environmental toxins like vaccines and autism have children who are so addled and dangerous that they are not able to live at home. That we have let this go on for so long is a testament to the power of the pharmaceutical industry and, perhaps, to the gullibility of humans and our ego-driven refusal to admit when we are wrong.

My pleasure! :-)

I blame the shrinks. They conflated Asperger's and autism (and a few other issues) into ASD. Why? I am reminded of the story of putting different ants in a jar, then shaking it. Boom! Everybody is at each other's throat (and tentacles).

Why did they nix Asperger's? Because Hans Asperger, working in Austria duing the war, cooperated with the Nazis. So we are all better off if his name is erased, right?! :-( It's all so stupid...

We are all neurodiverse. Why is that even an issue? (hug)

Thank you, Erin. Though my daughter Jennifer is high-functioning, her sister Flora is not, and she doesn't fit into the "Good Doctor" paradigm. Hans Asperger claimed that he saved autistic children during the war, when in fact he often signed their death warrants. That's why his name is now persona non grata.

It is hard, so many years after the war, to know exactly what happened, and to what extent he could have bucked the directives, or whether he actually did in some cases. But even had he been a Nazi party member outright (he was not) that should not have been the reason to change DSM classification to set parents at each other. My two cents.

Great selection, Jennifer! Thank you, Jonathan Rose! Great article & book presentation! I also followed through to the suggestions on prepping for a book publication. I have no previous written book, but am wrestling with myself in the one I am, with exceptionally good help of a writing coach, slowly bringing together. Slogging though the horror and muck of carnage we did in Vietnam is not comfortable hiking. Reflection, especially when done with critical thinking, is also chronically challenging. yet, even though the writing always makes me tired and sleepy, I am delivering a few lines or pages almost daily. Gayle's story has been introduced; now to get the book. I am already encouraged by it, for the story told by Jonathan is very compelling indeed. Thank you both for getting this together in this medium. I do share such stellar compositions with friends and family.

So glad to hear that you are writing a book, Walter. I can't wait to read it. Keep going! (I'd say "keep slogging" but that sounds too negative.) You got this!

Thank you for sharing your story. I'd say considerably more than 25% of autistic children are severe cases. And even those who are higher-functioning and have real talents start out with two strikes against them. There is no upside to autism.

I actually toyed with going even lower to lessen the resistance to the main point so those that are brainwashed by the “proven science” would at least read and perhaps understand. Trying to open eyes is not easy when so much of the machine is fighting to keep us in silence. Sad but true

I get it though, there is so much to protect against for them. This will make the tobacco lawsuits seem like the penny slots with the payouts, so…..

Dear dear Ms. Margulis. I feel certain you are correct, so I'm not going to play around with whether I "agree" or "disagree" with you. Never a good idea to meet facts with opinions. So if you'll please allow me to add another, vital perspective: We both know how outrageously off base the mainstream medical industrial complex is regarding what is both real and true. My biggest concern/complaint is how "science" is worshipped, no matter that the massive amount of inconvenient science is conveniently swept aside. Inside the conceptual walls of the faulty medical pseudoscientific purview, of course the public discourse needs a big change. But it is only inside that absurd mental prison that any tension between Autism and Neurodivergence exists in the first place. In an open and honest and unpoliced and thoughtful and scientific discourse, the space for Autism and Neurodivergence to live and breathe their respective, overlapping, yet distinct truths is not only possible, but easy. But both Autism and Neurodivergence need to fight for breathe when stepping into that prison of the CDC, the AMA, the FDA, along with the other academic and government entities which really don't care much for what is real or true scientifically or in the world. Please, can we work to change the discourse by fighting side by side, and not against one another?

This is very moving - you are so right in everything that is said. Our son is severely autistic and I know it is connected to his immune system. Vaccination can be dangerous for children like ours. Those who are born to mothers who have allergies and obvious immune dysregulation have this weakness passed on in utero (not necessarily in genes but in the blood and also in the epigenetics). In our case, the MMR and Meningitis C vaccinations, given on the same day, pushed his system over the edge.

I've been writing about our experiences on the Autism Tribune on substack and there will be lots of parallels in our efforts and experiences in trying to get help for our children. Despite all the talk of 'awareness' there is actually very little awareness of what severe autism can be like - even amongst the so-called experts who diagnose it and are called upon to advise on the management and potential treatment of the condition. It still shocks me to this day (almost 20 years later). It is even more shocking that RFK gets so much negativity for being the one politician who seems to have a brain when it comes to the topic. I'm praying for him.

My younger daughter was pushed over the edge by her second MMR shot. And those who talk of "autism awareness" really want no public awareness at all of the damage the autism pandemic is causing.

So sorry to hear but it is very important to tell people. And brave. The vaccines can and do poison children - especially the triple dose ones like MMR. We have learned the hardest way possible.
