I had the great fortune of being a hospice nurse. My favorite shifts were caring for patients through the night when the patient was actively dying. Over and over again, a family member that dearly loved the patient would show up. We didn’t see that family member but the patient did.

I believe that God in his gracious mercy and kindness sends someone to take us across the human Rainbow Bridge. I no longer fear death because I know I won’t be going across by myself.

Most people are afraid of dying because they’re afraid of pain, but with the services of hospice and the various comfort meds available, patients don’t need to experience pain or distress.

I’m sure being a friend of Dr. Pierre Cory you have access to all of the various healing modalities within the natural and powerful in alternative medicine universe.

I think a very powerful and good request is asking God to reveal himself to you and to ask him to show you who he wants to be for you as you traverse these challenging events. You’ve got this, girl!

Thank you for this beautiful comment, dear. I would like to work as a death doula I think. But not for money. Maybe for some other kind of energy exchange? I got this. And I’m not afraid of pain (living with quite a bit and have survived that eye pressure which was the worst pain I have ever felt and can ever imagine) or dying. I’d just like to put both off for another 25 years or so, thank you very much. I have a lot I’m still hoping to do earth side and a family that needs me. How can I work as a death doula if I’m dead? We shall see what happens next. And I’m praying for guidance all the time. ❤️

Oh, Jennifer, I so wish you weren't going through this! Still, I'm learning from you as you share about your journey of suffering and hope, complete with your quirky sense of humor. Big love and prayers, dear one!

(About casket shopping: Have you heard of terramation, AKA human composting? This is what I've decided I want done, and I think you'll find it to be a beautiful option) https://returnhome.com

That said, let's try to put off the long dirt-nap for as long as we can.

We have a cemetery here, up in the mountains, where they have a permit to bury human remains directly in the earth. It’s pretty awesome. I would tell you I’d check this out but it’s hard for me to click on links. I will ask someone to check it out and tell me about it. ❤️❤️❤️

Jennifer, where’s “Here” now? Didn’t you move away from the Ashland area a while back?

Your present goal of being a death doula is noble. Since you answering my questions two months ago when Lilah Grace our granddaughter was born undefiled with your encouragement, my husband of 40 years has been diagnosed with cancer on his tonsils and adenoids. Tomorrow is another MRI and later in the week a pet scan. Like you, he has a great sense of humor and is responding to alternative protocols in order to reverse the frisky cells creating chaos.

I join your family and friends praying for the best possible outcome for you as you continue to co create with our Creator from moment to moment. The humanity of the Mexican doctor being present with you was such a gift. Thank you for communicating it with us, an example of loving deeds of kindness at precisely the right moment. God bless your 15 year old precious assistant bringing your thoughts to us in this hour. It is in the shelter of each other we live…in your case with acute, chronic pain. May you know we all want to ease it. Sending love and affection to you now.

This beautiful expression of your view of life and death and health and sickness is exactly the view I hope I could express if I were in your same situation. As always, it comes with profound wisdom and the perfect dose of humor, no offense to those who jumped ship after the first line lol!

Jennifer,

My 87 year old (but seemingly very healthy - till he was not) father died unexpectedly in December. Thank you for giving me a safe place to feel all the emotion that my family doesn't understand or know how to accept or share.

So, I love you.

I loved you before your current unwellness.

And I will recall and love you for a long time after this admission and moment.

Wishing you only the best, or at least the experiences that lead to the gift of learning and growing, for every moment you have here.

And always, after.

Yes. The experiences that lead to growth and understanding and learning and transformation. Often they’re not the easy experiences. Some of us have to be cracked wide open to make room for the light to shine in. I feel you on the loss of your grandfather and I hope you can be kind to yourself and be able to mourn him with as many screams and sobs and emotions as you need to have. Despite what anyone else thinks about your feelings and the water coming out of your eyes. Sending love back to you, dear.

Jennifer, I'd like to share with you a pertinent story that I heard a very long time ago about how the power of UNITY can achieve what is supposedly utterly impossible. This is my recollection : Every year groups of Canada geese, adopting their classic V-formation, leave the comforts of their known habitat and undertake an arduous and risky migration to far-off lands. It is brutal yet they do it year after year because they KNOW that, together, they are able to travel crazy distances like 1500 miles a day at speed wobble velocities up to 70mph. How do they manage? The goose in the very front is known as the BREAKER. It's the courageous leader who knows the way, weathers the brunt of the winds and challenge and understands that its followers depend on it for their SURVIVAL. The followers are known as the HONKERS. Their unified deafening honk propels the breaker onward and onward. Jennifer, YOU are the BREAKER. Do not underestimate how many HONKERS we are propelling you towards renewed balance and wellness. You will get there one honk at a time!

(BTW I have never posted a comment on social media before but I felt it necessary to let you know that there are likely thousands and thousands of honkers out there who, like me, are simply the quiet silent type :))

❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for this. And for getting out of your comfort zone to post on social media and share your thoughts with us. This brought tears to my eyes (both eyes weep though I only have one): "It's the courageous leader who knows the way, weathers the brunt of the winds and challenge and understands that its followers depend on it for their SURVIVAL. The followers are known as the HONKERS. Their unified deafening honk propels the breaker onward and onward. Jennifer, YOU are the BREAKER.
